A pretty tropical to sub-tropical tree, varies greatly in size depending on conditions, generally sits around 10mtrs in height. This tree stands out with its foliage which is a dark green on top and a shimmering gold underneath. The fruit is baseball sized with a sweet flavoured flesh, can be pale green to reddish purple.
Great as a garnish because of its showy star shaped core. Flesh can be eaten straight from the ripe fruit, or mixed with other fruits to create delicious deserts.
Prefers tropical to subtropical conditions, will not handle frost. Not particularly fussy with soil type but must have good drainage.
