Feijoa sellowiana is a dense and bushy, evergreen shrub with pinky white flowers with red stamen throughout spring. The fruit has a pineapple scent and the flesh is yellow with a gritty like texture.
The Feijoa can be trained to grow along wires, or kept as a hedge, screen or small ornamental tree. The sellowiana produces a tough skinned berry, which can be eaten raw or used to make jam.
Feijoas grow well in coastal areas, with well drained soil, but require pruning after fruiting.
