The Prunus persica is a deciduous tree producing lush green foliage with a golden yellow display throughout autumn. Native to China and standing 4-8m tall this fruit bearing tree that is self fertile and requires cooler temperates to induce blooming.
Fresh stone fruits that have orange to red skin with a fuzzy texture until washed and a golden yellow inside that is juicy and sweet. The peach can be eaten fresh off the tree or used to make jams, relishes, in salads, desserts, pies or even dehydrated.
Peach trees thrive in full sun with moist acidic-neutral, well drained soils. They do not like water to sit around their roots, or frosts, they are best suited to sloping hills.
