The yellow strawberry guava tree bears fruit of 1-2”. Inside, the flesh is yellow, fragrant and has a lemon-guava tinged, tasty flavor. It’s tree reaches 13m bearing fruit from 3-6 years on and is native to Brazil.
Seeds have medicinal properties including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial and contains a large quantity of Vitamin C. Can be eaten whole or used to make jam.
Best protected from hard freezes and enjoys full sun, but can tolerate shade and needs ample water to produce full fruit development. Flowers bloom a couple of times a year.
