Tall elegant glossy tree growing between 10 and 20 metres. Produces a sweet fruit with the texture of pears that tastes like caramel or brown sugar.
Fruit set mainly January through February but will produce fruit intermittently throughout the year in the warmer months. Fruit picked when hard and placed in a cool dry position to ripen.
Mainly used in deserts
Prefers well drained soil in full sun position, doesn't mind coastal conditions and can handle a light frost.
